St. Patrick's day is just around the corner and I figured what better way to celebrate than with some festive nails and glitter? We love this holiday because it allows us to get creative and come up with fun projects like this in one of the most lovely colors: green. Of course St. Patrick's Day also gives you a great excuse to beautify your nails as well! Toast to St. Patty's in fashion with these glittering nails and you are sure to draw some attention from those young Irish lads!
You will need some green nail polish, loose glitter, a silver sharpie (and optional Elmer's glue depending on your preference). **Side note: you might need some gold chocolate coins to snack on and get your Irish inspiration for designing your nails as well!**
You will paint your nails green first. I applied a few coats to ensure the color was solid. Once your nails are painted, it is up to you on whether you would like to lay the glitter on right away or if you would prefer to wait until the polish dries. If you decide to wait for the polish to dry, you can use the Elmer's glue as an adhesive agent, and paint it on where you would like the glitter. Once the glitter is in place, you can alternate some shamrocks and polka dots between every other nail using the silver sharpie.

If you prefer for your nails to last longer, you can GENTLY dab on a clear coat over the sharpie marks and glitter. (The sharpie will smudge and the glitter might not glisten as nicely if you are not gentle). If you have an event celebrating St. Patrick's day this week and paint your nails the same day, then you probably won't need a clear coat and your nails should last through the evening as long as you handle them with care. Enjoy your lucky and lovely new nails!

Thanks Leah. You are so kind. Yes I like to save this bright green nail polish for when I'm feeling brave. But St. Patty's is a perfect time to let go of those fears and embrace the green! :)
