We were recently shopping at the Outlet Mall here in Oklahoma City and decided to pop into the J. Crew store. It was totally my lucky day because the wool skirts were marked down an additional 50 percent off of the already marked down price. Needless to say, I bought two skirts including this lovely teal one.
When we arrived home from our shopping spree, I felt the need to immediately try on the skirts with other pieces I already had in my closet, and match them up, and accessorize them. This is really a human thing to do. We see something we've been dreaming of owning. We find it at the right price or save our hard-earned money to buy the item. And once we buy the item, there is a need to show it off immediately, otherwise the excitement of owning it fades.
I decided to pair the teal skirt up with a neutral black flowing top and continued this black down into my tights and heels. Like I've mentioned in other posts, it's great to wear bright colors, but understanding how to mix them with other colors can really make your shine when you wear it!
In this case, I chose to focus on my new teal skirt and used black and yellow to compliment the teal. Black can be a great neutral color and is great at making your bright colors stand out and even drawing the eye to the color. And of course black is a color that looks great on anyone!
Evie is also really into helping me pick out what pieces I will put together. She is quite a fashionista or at least very picky about what she will wear.
