Over the 4th of July weekend, Kaleb and I decided to visit some family in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a wonderful chance to catch up with them as well as do some fun site-seeing. While we were there, our cousins took us to visit the West Bottoms Antique Market. The first Friday of every month, this historic area in Kansas city hosts a market where different vendors can sell antique items. It appears that the market is hosted in a few blocks of old buildings. The vendors fill a few stories of each building with wonderful furniture and antiques. There are also food vendors there with refreshments.
Some of the antique pieces are original and some have been refurbished. Either way, this is a unique place to find tons of furniture and antiques all in one place. If Kaleb and I had brought a truck, we would have probably spent all our money on furniture there. We drew great inspiration from this event and found a few great items that we will post about later. A few of the vendors we visited include Good Juju and Well Traveled. If you are ever in the area, you must visit this fun market!
Our little cousins are on the left. We had so much fun with them!

DeleteMarilyn and Kaleb,
ReplyDeleteI am so late to the party! Thank you, so much, for the kind comments about the West Bottoms Antique Market experience. It has grown from one shop almost six years ago to almost 26 shops today! It is so much fun for us vendors to find, make, and stage all of this, and we are so happy that our work makes people happy.
Thank you for taking time to visit, and especially for taking time to write.
I love your blog!
Sincerely, Geri Wurth, manager at Good Ju Ju West Bottoms, KCMO
