String Art Workshop at Anthropologie with Design Crush in OKC

Kaleb and I recently had the opportunity to attend a small charity workshop hosted by Anthropologie and Design Crush. Many of you may be aware that on May 20th of this year Moore, Oklahoma experienced a huge tornado that took dozens of lives and injured a few hundred more. Oklahoma was devastated and we actually know several people who were directly effected. Our home was less than 10 miles from where the tornado hit! It was such an unreal day here for us, but Kaleb and I are just grateful our friends, family, and home made it through. 

It has really been amazing to see the love and support that has been shown to Moore and Oklahoma since May. We were excited to support something that would benefit the schools swept away in the storm. Kelly of Design Crush and Anthropologie did an excellent job of hosting this workshop. Kelly was so friendly and kind and we really enjoyed getting to hang out with her. There were lots of yummy sweets to snack on and a fun DIY string art project to remind us of the positive growth that will happen from this event. We thought we'd share a few of our iphone photos of the process.

Here are the actual photos of our process. We used a template, taped it onto a wooden frame, outlined our states and heart in nails, and strung it up with fun colors!

Kaleb and I each chose a different style. And while I focused on a more colorful centered Oklahoma, Kaleb decided on a more masculine, randomly-strung Oklahoma.

Kaleb's art and hands actually made it onto Anthropologie's Instagram. We were thrilled! Hoping to attend more fun workshops like this soon.
