When planning for our short overnight trip to Charleston, we had been really hoping to book our travel through airbnb.com. Airbnb is an awesome site that allows you to book your overnight stay at a person's home or list your own home for someone to stay at (they also book internationally). Sometimes you may find it to be a better deal than staying at a hotel, but overall it's more of a personal experience that might immerse you into the culture of your destination better. We really enjoyed staying at this lovely Charleston home. It was close to the downtown shops and ended up being perfect for our first time using Airbnb. The place we stayed even offered the use of two bicycles! We would definitely stay here again, but we are even more excited about traveling and using Airbnb for many of our future stays as well.

Looks like a very quaint and quiet getaway spot. I am headed to Charleston in 2 weeks. I would love if you could let me know if you have any great restaurant suggestions or come across any wonderful antique or thrift shops. Have fun :)

ReplyDeleteWow that's awesome. I've never heard of airbnb but will definitely check it out!!
ReplyDeleteDo the owners of the home stay with you? Or are they out of the house while you're there?
Hi Virginia, it just depends on each location. A lot of times the owner has a home, but does a lot of work elsewhere for the job, so they airbnb the house. In this case, we actually stayed in the basement of this home which was actually it's own apartment. It was amazing! You will have to check it out. :)
