We were craving the warm weather so much this weekend. I think it was in the 70's here, but it felt like 80 degrees. It was almost hot and I liked it! I decided to put on one of my favorite dresses I got last summer from Quicksilver. However once I put it on and we went out, it got kind of chilly again. If you live in the midwest, you know that the weather around here is unpredictable and you must stay prepared for all four seasons to possibly hit on any given day.
Since I predicted the weather could turn at any point, I paired this dress with a bright neon yellow cardigan. Have I mentioned how much I love bright colors? As I've said in the past, I like to try and fit as many colors into an outfit as possible without looking too tacky.
For this outfit I wasn't really trying to match the colors. Since the dress is so effortless, I figured the whole outfit should be. And sometimes you just need to dress for comfort. I feel the most myself when I wear what I want and don't even care what anyone thinks. I did feel it was necessary to throw in some beachy beads. I truly miss the beach this week. I am from South Carolina, so being landlocked for too long makes me miss the coast quite a bit.
With that being said, we decided to hit up the closest thing to the beach in Oklahoma: a lake. Though it's not a beach or even close, there's water. Good enough. I was also so excited to be able to wear sandals this weekend. We are so unbelievably ready for warm weather here.
Bring on Spring! Hope you all had a wonderful first day of spring. The trees are finally blooming with these beautiful white blossoms here and I can't stop taking photos with my phone. Get outside and enjoy the warm weather. It will really make your soul come alive!
And the weeather predictions for Oklahoma this weekend include snow. We are hoping this will be a quick come and go thing. But if not, we are embracing this four-seasons-in-a-week period! Sometimes a little unpredictability can be a good thing.

ReplyDeleteIt's kind of like that here in the Philippines, only don't have four seasons. Sometimes it gets too hot in the morning and then come afternoon, it will rain cats and dogs. It's hard to pick what clothes to wear!
