Styling Classic with Polka Dots by Marilyn

Kaleb and I decided to take a few photos with these fun new pants I recently acquired. I realized in the last three years our home is slowly taking on much more of this color. I love these pants because they remind me of our Kitchen-Aid mixer, which is sort of my housewife trophy. (If you are engaged, you need to register for one. These are heavy-duty mixers and they add some personality to your kitchen. You will thank me later).
To compliment these pants and bring out that classic/retro feel, I paired it with a polka dotted top, pearls, silver flats, and pink glasses. When wearing colored pants, it's a good idea to go with a more neutral top so that your pieces compliment each other instead of compete with each other.
The thing that I love about polka dots is that they will never go out of style. You can buy something with this pattern on it, pull it out 10 years later, and people may still ask you if you just bought that piece or where they can find one like it.
Owning a pair of good and classy flats are a staple to have in your closet. They are efficient for work or walking and if they are a somewhat neutral color, you will find that you can wear them with almost anything!
Pearls will obviously never go out of style either as they are a thing created by nature. Styling with pearls has been around for centuries. So feel free to invest in some classic items for your wardrobe and don't be afraid of color. Take some fashion risks! And when in doubt, it's always a good idea to default to some of your classic styles.
