Guthrie by Marilyn

This weekend we had a chance to hang out in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Guthrie is truly an amazing place with beautifully preserved historic Victorian architecture. There are quite a few fun shops to visit and we loved that we could take a small vacation from the city to a close fun town. On the weekends, they have local farmer's markets and reenactment gun fights. While we were there we visited Hoboken Coffee Roasters, Prairie Gothic, Hancock Creative Shop, and various amazing antique stores. We couldn't have been more impressed with the charm of Guthrie and the friendly shop owners at each place we visited.

An Iphone VSCO snapshot of my delicious cappuccino and fresh blackberry muffin at Hoboken Coffee Roasters

A few of our purchases: The local honey and Rifle Paper Father's Day cards are from Prairie Gothic and the fun vintage button rings are from Hancock Creative Shop, where most everything from the shop is created by the owners or by local artists. If any of you are ever in town, we highly recommend visiting both places!
I recently found this splendid little mint dress with a fun organic triangle pattern on it and new I needed to have it for fun little outings like our trip to Guthrie this weekend.
I decided to pair the dress with my ole' faithful yellow cardigan. I say this about my cardigan because I love it and I can wear it with almost anything. If you see me ten times, I might be wearing this cardigan 5 of those times...  I paired the outfit with this amazing necklace I recently found. I seriously purchased the necklace because it reminded me of the horcrux necklace from Harry Potter. And of course I am wearing the ring I just purchased. We hope you guys will be encouraged to go out and buy an outfit you can wear for fun and go on an adventure to a nearby unexplored town. You never know what treasures you will find!

I, too, have a trusty ole yellow cardigan. It's years and years old and starting to get holes in all of the places, though. I can't bring myself to find a replacement.
PS I really dig that necklace!
