Tree Slices by Marilyn

This past weekend, Kaleb and I had fun helping his sister and her husband do some small renovations on their house. We accomplished quite a bit while we were there (including finishing two guest rooms and refurbishing a dresser)!

During this time, our father-in-law came over to her house to cut down some tree limbs that were growing into their backyard fence. I noticed that he was cutting the limbs really straight and immediately envisioned rustic wood centerpieces in my head. We asked him to cut us some slimmer pieces and he happily cut us about 20 pieces!
I find these so useful. I will be using these lovely tree slices for baby/bachelorette showers, weddings I help with, decorations around our home, and my office.
If you have access to a handy man and a chainsaw, make use of those old limbs and have some slices cut.
If you don't have access to these, you can purchase lovely wood slabs here as well.

  1. Super cute! I've really been into that rustic look lately, and I've been seeing lots of DIY's involving wood slices. We have some tree's that need to come down in my backyard, maybe I can get my dad to cut some so I can do something similar to this!

  9. So pretty! If they were small enough branches/slices you could also use them as coasters!
