DIY: Spray Paint Cap Shadowbox by Kaleb

Over the past couple of years I have been fortunate to paint a steady stream of murals and commissioned pieces. With all of the murals that I have painted, you can see I have gone through a lot of spray paint. Most of the paint has been Montana Hardcore and Montana 94. If you have never used it before, it will change your life. They have the best quality paint and the best colors. With all of this paint, I have gone through a ton of caps. And for some reason I started keeping all my used caps after each job. I knew that I wanted to use them for sometthing, but I didn't know what it was until about a month ago. I wanted to turn them into an art piece. So I went to the art supply store and purchased a shadow box. I then gathered all of my used spray paint caps. Here is the final product and how you can make one for yourself.

Here's What You'll Need:
Used or new spray paint caps
1 Shadowbox

Step 1: Remove the back panel of the shadowbox and wipe the glass before you start. You don't want to finish the project and realize there is a fingerprint on the inside and have to take it apart.

Step 2: Start to place the caps in the shadow box. I found that shaking the shadow as if panning for gold allowed the caps to settle into place so I could add as many as I could fit.

Step 3: Place the back panel back on the shadowbox. It might be a little snug depending on how many caps you would like to fit in the shadowbox. Try different amounts of caps to make different statements with your new piece of art!
