This weekend we bought a few of those Paas egg dying kits. We got together and set out our eggs and cups of dye like we were kids again. This was so much fun, but we must admit we were a little impatient with the egg-dying process and forgot about how long it takes for the eggs to reach their brightest color. While we were waiting, we had a chance to put together a few centerpiece ideas. We hope you will be inspired to celebrate Easter this Sunday!

I love the mini eggs separated by color. They look so pretty. Never would have thought of gold dipping the eggs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cerise! We really enjoyed making these and were inspired to try something different!
DeleteThe half gold and polka ones are so pretty! Did you use just regular paint??

Thanks so much Lisa! We actually did just use regular gold paint that you would normally paint your house walls with, but we decided ahead of time that these eggs would just be for decoration. We've heard though that there is an edible gold paint that you can use, but it is more translucent. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThis looks so pretty! Love the half god eggs
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea with the gold paint! Did you also paint on the stripes on the blue and pink egg? Any painting tips... what kind of paint, brush type, egg temperature... you can share?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Staci! We actually boiled our eggs first and let them cool off. We taped a few of them off using masking tape to get the stripes. We left the masking tape on when we dyed them in the first color. We then removed the tape and dipped them in the second color. We didn't use any brushed this time around. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLovely! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kaisa!
DeleteI love the mini eggs, we have the same from Milka.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of paint did you use for the gold? Love this idea!

The mini eggs are so delicious! We bet the Milka ones are excellent as well. For the gold paint we used a house paint that you would normally paint your walls with. We planned on only using these eggs for decoration. We do not recommend painting them with house paint if you plan to eat them. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThese are so cute! I love the gold paint :)
