Baked PB&J by Kaleb

I may have mentioned before that PB&Js are one of my favorite snacks. It's quick, easy, and full of protein and carbs that are great for an active lifestyle. There are only a few things that will make a classic PB&J better than it already is...and one of those things is toasting it. I'm not a big fan of the taste of "Smuckers Uncrustables" amongst other reasons, but the round shape definitely seems to make a PB&J taste better. :) I decided to create this little recipe for you guys to try out your own.

Ingredients
Bread
Jam or Jelly (I used my Homemade Strawberry Jam from last weeks food post.)
Peanut Butter (We prefer to use completely raw peanut butter. You can find this at your local health food store and actually have a grinder grind up the peanuts in front of you. There is no need to be putting all those extra preservatives into your body).
Round Cup or cookie cutter

Directions
1) Place about a tablespoon of Jam and Peanut Butter in the center of the bread.

2.) Place the other slice of bread on top and center the glass of cookie cutter on top of the bread and press down firmly to make a round sandwich.

3) Brush both sides with butter or olive oil and place on a cooking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until edges are crispy.  (Tip: Flip the PB&J's after about 7-10 minutes so they can cook more evenly).

4) Enjoy and share one with a friend!

    1. I'm there with you. I will eat take in all the carbs I can get! :) But thought this was a fun way to make a little pocket. There are probably things you could make similar to this while keeping the crust!
